Herbert “Herb” Dale Crampton
April 27, 1934 - November 1, 2017Herbert “Herb” Dale Crampton, 83, went home to heaven on November 1, 2017, after a brief illness.
Herb was born on a farm in Denison to Raymond and Opal Crampton. In 1952, he graduated from High School in Wall Lake. From 1953 to 1955, he served his country during the Korean War. On October 26, 1958, he married Margaret Ann Maude. They were blessed with sixty years of married life together. During this time, Herb worked for National Cash Registers/AT&T for forty-five years.
Living a life filled with service, Herb joined The Elks, The Jaycee’s, The Kiwanians, The Masons, and the Shriners. Moreover, as a faithful member of Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Storm Lake, he served as an elder. Elected to the County Board of Supervisors, he served for twelve years.
Herb is survived by his wife Margaret; his sons, Scott (Lori) and Kevin (Karen); his grandchildren, Taylor (Chris), Jordan (Kathleen), and Morgan and Elisabeth; his great grandchildren, Bodhi and Quinn Underwood; and his brother, Robert (Bob) Crampton. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Eula Mae and Bonnie; and his brother, Don.
Services at Lakeside Presbyterian in Storm Lake will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. with lunch to follow. Graveside services will follow at Lawton at 3:30 p.m.
A kind and loving man, Herb, always, had time to help others. He is dearly missed by his loved ones. We celebrate knowing he is at peace with our Lord in Heaven. “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way.” Psalm 37:23
