August 18, 1932 - August 13, 2017Lois Treinen, age 84, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Sunday, August 13, 2017, at the Pleasant View Home in Albert City.
Lois Ann Brummer, a daughter of Edward and Minnie (Burmeister) Brummer, was born in Albert City, Iowa, on August 18, 1932. She lived her youth in Marathon and graduated with the Class of 1952 from the Marathon High School. While growing up, Lois enjoyed participating in 4-H.
On May 16, 1953, Lois married Arnold E. Treinen at St. John’s Lutheran parsonage in Storm Lake. They, subsequently, were blessed with one son, Mark. Lois and Arnie spent their married life living and working in Storm Lake where Lois was employed in the housekeeping department at the hospital for twenty-one years. A member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Storm Lake, she sang in the church choir. Her special interests included reading and watching television.
Lois’ life is honored and cherished by her family which includes her husband, Arnold, of Storm Lake, Iowa; her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Julie Treinen, of Albert City, Iowa; and her sister, Lola Brock, of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; as well as by her nieces, nephews, other extended family members, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at 1:30 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. Burial will follow in the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 15, 2017, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake is overseeing the arrangements.
