STORM LAKE REGISTER - Thu, Oct 31, 1929 - H.H. Steffen, resident of Storm Lake for almost a half century and well known throughout the community, died at the Swallum hospital Thursday morning of this week at about 2. Mr Steffen had been ill for a long time and had been at the hospital for nearly a year. His wife died just three weeks ago. Mr Steffen was about 73 years of age.

Mr Steffen came to Storm Lake in 1881 and entered in the shoe business with is brother, Will Steffen, and has since resided here.

He leaves to mourn his death, one daughter, Mrs W.D. VanDeMark of Sioux City; and four sons: W.S. Steffen and C.A. Steffen of Storm Lake; Edwin Steffen of Pullman, WA; and Rudolph Steffen of Sioux City; and his brother, Will Steffen of Kerman, CA.

Funeral services will probably be held Saturday afternoon.
