July 15, 1932 - June 14, 2016

Leo W. Henderson, age 83, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at his home in Storm Lake.

Born to Glen and Edith Henderson on July 15, 1932, on a farm near Havelock, Iowa, Leo attended country school until the 7th grade. Then, following the death of his father, he stayed home to run the family farm. Inducted into the United States Army on November 4, 1952, he served his country until his honorable discharge on November 3, 1955.

Leo married Betty Lou Boughey on March 26, 1958, in Laurens, Iowa. Subsequently, they had two sons, Glen and Tom.

A proud member of the American Legion, Leo will be remembered for his strong work ethic and his devotion to his wife and children. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sons: Glen Henderson, of Martell, Nebraska, and Tom Henderson, of Storm Lake, Iowa; and his granddaughter, Danielle Henderson, of Greenville, South Carolina; as well as extended family members and friends.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty; and his brothers: Dale, Glen, Lloyd, Bill, and Gene Henderson.

Graveside services will be held Monday, June 20, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the Laurens Cemetery in Laurens, Iowa. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
