Storm Lake Register - Thu, Oct 21, 1926 - Funeral services for Mrs C.H. Russie, well known Storm Lake woman who passed away at her home in this city early last Wednesday morning following an illness of some time, were held from the home, 115 Oneida street last Friday afternoon and interment was in the local cemetery.

Mrs Edith Hoag Russie, daughter of Mr and Mrs A.C. Hoag was born in Berrian county, Michigan Oct 10, 1863 and passed away at her home in Storm Lake Wednesday, Oct 13, 1926 at the age of 63 years and 3 days.

She lived in Michigan until 1870 when she moved with her parents to Genoa, IL and three years later moved to Sac county, Iowa, where they lived on a farm until 1887.

She was united in marriage to C.H. Russie of Storm Lake in the year 1887 and after their marriage Mr and Mrs Russie lived on a farm for 4 years. In 1890 they moved to Storm Lake where they have since resided.

Mrs Russie united with the First Baptist church of this city Jan 18, 1900. Her home was precious to her and her deepest joy was found in ministering to her husband and children and in being a friend to those in need.

To Mr and Mrs Russie three daughters were born. They are Mrs Wm J Redden of Racine, WI; and Mrs Earnest Martz and Mrs Walter Hambrook both of Storm Lake.

Besides her husband and children, she leaves to mourn her death her aged mother, Mrs E Hoag of Storm Lake; two sisters, Mrs Myrta Russie of Los Angeles, CA; and Mrs Delta Kane of St Paul, MN; and one brother Fred Hoag of Storm Lake; and 8 grandchildren.
