Storm Lake Pilot-Tribune - Thu, Dec 4, 1947 - Charles Henry Russie was born in Baine county, WI on May 31, 1863. He died at his home 521 W Third street Monday afternoon. When 6 months old he came with his parents to Marshall county, Iowa by way of Chicago.

They traveled by ox team in a covered wagon and settled on a farm north of Marshalltown. In 1882 he came to Buena Vista county and subsequently was united in marriage to Miss Edith Hoag of Sac County.

Three daughters were born, Lettie, Bessie and Hazel. Mr Russie lived on a farm near Storm Lake for 5 years and then moved into the city and built a residence at 115 Oneida street where he resided until his wife died in 1926.

Mr Russie made his home with is daughter Bessie Martz with exception of several winters in California. In 1900 he was united with the First Baptist church.

Mr Russie has been a trustee of the church for about 30 years. In 1936 he built a house at 521 West Third street and was married to Mrs Essie Giddle in the fall of that year.

Surviving are the three daughters: Mrs Lettie B Redden Milwaukee; Mrs Hazel Regenitter, Southerland; and Mrs Ernest Martz of Storm Lake; a brother in Conrad, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.

Final rites were held this afternoon from the Hughes Funeral home. Burial was made in the Lakeview cemetery.
