Storm Lake Buena Vista Vidette - Fri, Aug 16, 1912 - Aaron Rogers was born Dec 23, 1840 and died Aug 11, 1912 at the age of 71 years, 6 months, and 16 days.

He left Green county, New York when 13 years of age with his parents and went to Winnipeg county, IL. Here he remained until 1861 when he came to Iowa settling near Spirit Lake.

In 1867 his father died and he returned to Illinois to remain with his mother and sister. In 1884 he in company with his sister and her husband, Mr and Mrs A.M. Hallock, came to Buena Vista county settling in Washington township and here they lived until 2 years ago when they came to town.

Mr Rogers was in poor health for some time and has been critically ill for the past few weeks. His only surviving brother, T.H. Rogers of Long Island, Kansas came and was here for the funeral. The funeral was held at the Christian church Tuesday afternoon and was in charge of the Masonic lodge of which he was a member.

Mr Rogers has been a man who had many friends. He was unassuming and yet possessed a charming dignity.

His sister and brother are his only surviving blood relatives, though his brother-in-law with whom he has made his home for 30 years, was as near to him as any brother could be.
