STORM LAKE PILOT TRIBUNE - Feb 21, 1929 - Mrs. Zoe Reis, one of Storm Lake's most beloved young women, passed away Friday morning, February 15 in the hospital at Carroll. Her death came as a great shock to the relatives and many friends and her passing is being mourned with great sorrow.

Mrs. Reis had an attack of the flu the latter part of November which developed into complications. Everything that medical aid and loving hands could do to bring her back to health was done, but she grew steadily worse until death claimed her. Mrs. Reis was a devoted mother, wife and daughter. Her first interests were in her immediate family and her home.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Methodist church. Rev R Chipperfield of Estherville, a former Storm Lake pastor, was in charge of the services. Rev Chipperfield performed the ceremony which united Mr and Mrs Reis in marriage. Zoe was an intimate friend of Miss Ruth Chipperfield, daughter of the pastor. The bearers were Messrs David Hughes, A.A. Baustian, Albert Gilbert, J.H. Richards, Warner Tigges, and C.M. Dunlap. The body was laid to rest in Lakeview cemetery.

Zoe Kinne was born Dec 17, 1899, on a farm home near Storm Lake, where she grew to young womanhood. She attended school in Storm Lake and was graduated with the class of 1918. She then attended Buena Vista college for a year after which she was employed as bookkeeper in the A.M. Foster store. During her high school days and in college she was prominent in all activities, chief among them being declamatory work and home talent plays.

On March 4, 1920 she was united in marriage to William A Reis. One child, Janis, was born to this union.

Mrs Reis leaves to mourn her passing her husband and daughter; her devoted mother, Mrs P.F. Kinne; three sisters: Mrs R.H. Haines of Los Angeles; Mrs R.F. Downs of Oak Park, IL; and Mrs H.C. Foster, of Storm Lake; and one brother, Merritt Kinne of Los Angeles. There are two half sisters: Mrs Mable Shaenhair of Los Angeles and Mrs Pearl Griffith of Burley, Idaho.
