STORM LAKE PILOT-TRIBUNE - May 24, 1945 - Services for Mrs. Martin Peterson, 80, who died early Sunday morning at her home, 721 Cayuga street, were held Tuesday afternoon in Hughes Funeral home with Rev J.F. Hutchinson of the Methodist church officiating. Bearers were George Waldo, Harold Stanton, Harold Kaufman, John Schafer, Harold LaBron, all of Storm Lake, and Lawrence McCullough of Cherokee. Interment was in Storm Lake cemetery.

Mrs. Martin Peterson, nee Christina Anderson, was born in Denmark Apri1 24, 1865. At the age of 17 she came to the States to make her home.

In 1884 she married Martin Peterson at Parkersburg, Iowa. To this union were born five children: Anna (Mrs. Will Pettit); Frank of Memphis, Tenn.; Clara (Mrs. Earl Jackson) Peoria, IL.; Agnes (Mrs. R.C. Stetson) of Lancaster, Ohio; and Harry, who passed away November 13, 1941.

She has resided in this community for the past 58 years and for 43 years has lived in Storm Lake. Her husband passed away 30 years ago. Mrs. Peterson was stricken suddenly and passed to her eternal home Sunday at 3 a.m. Her passing will be noted with regret by the many friends who have known her and held her in high esteem. She was a good, home loving mother, always willing to do for others and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She always looked forward to her annual homecoming of her children. Mrs. Peterson was baptized when a small child in the Danish Lutheran church, and later confirmed in the same church. She lived true to her faith and was a faithful and consistent Christian.
