STORM LAKE BUENA VISTA VIDETTE - May 26, 1905 - John Cristopher Reichter was born in Prussia, Germany, April 1, 1843. He came to the United States and settled in Indiana in 1852. He was married to Louisa Lederer, January 8, 1870.

In 1876 they moved to Illinois and remained there until 1896 when they moved to Iowa and settled the farm they still occupy, the east half of section 24, Grant.

He was the father of eight children, three of whom, one girl and two boys, preceded him in death. Five, two boys and three girls, are still living and all but the oldest daughter, Mrs. Weisenbaum, of Altemont, Kansas, are still at home. Mrs. Weisenbaum arrived last Friday in response to a message announcing the serious illness of her father.

Mr. Reichter has been in poor health for the past three years and month ago he was taken worse and has been confined to his bed since that time. Sunday morning at 6 the spirit left the body.

The funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the home and the body was laid to rest in the Storm Lake cemetery. The sympathy of the community is with the bereaved family.
