Storm Lake Pilot Tribune - Jan 7, 1926 - Urias Myers was born of German parentage in Lebanon county, PA Dec 25, 1840. When he was 12 years of age the family moved to Illinois, settling first at Decatur, Macon county, but soon removing to Troy Grove. In this later place he was united in marriage to Miss Alvina Gephard Jan 2, 1862.

Forty four years of his life were spent in Illinois after which he moved to Iowa settling near Storm Lake in 1897. He continued to reside near and later on in this city until his wife as taken to the Home Beyond in Feb 1916. From that time he lived about with his children at the time of his death being with Mrs Henry Meinhard at Sherburn, MN.

Mr Myers was the father of 9 children, two sons and four daughters surviving him. They are Mrs S.I. Edwards and Chas. Myers of Storm Lake; Mrs A Krausse of Mendota, IL; Mrs J.B. Alexander of Ardmore, OK; Mrs Henry Meinhard and Elmer Myers of Sherburn, MN.

Mr Myers mind was keen and active, he had read his Bible and could converse to great length about divine things. This man was the possessor of a wonderful constitution having never been sick until along towards the end of his days. After the many years of activity his vigor began to wane and the vital forces to run more slowly.

On Oct 28 he was suddenly afflicted and compelled to forego further activities. At length the sands of time ran out and his 85th birthday was the time of his stepping out from the scenes of earth into the rest at the Great Beyond. By a peculiar turn of the hands of destiny three important events of his sojourn fell upon the same days of the month: his birth, his sudden affliction, his death.

Funeral services were held at Sherburn, MN and the body was brought to Storm Lake Tuesday evening and to the home of Mr and Mrs Charles Myers, where funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon. Interment was beside his wife in the local cemetery.
