For the past three years Mr Murphy had been a sufferer with heart trouble and this winter the attacks had been more severe. They lived at that place until their removal to Storm Lake 14 years ago. The first year after coming to Storm Lake, Mr and Mrs Murphy were called upon to mourn the death of their only child, Fern.

During the years that he resided in this city, Mr Murphy was engaged in the strawberry and gardening business and became well and favorably known.
