Storm Lake Pilot-Tribune - Mar 10, 1955 - Frank Mittelstadt, son of Ferdinand and Bertha Mittelstadt, was born April 26, 1882, at Portage, Wisconsin, and died Saturday morning, March 5, 1955, at the Buena Vista County Hospital, Storm Lake, having reached the age of 72 years, 10 months and 7 days.

He was baptized in the name of the Triune God on June 4, 1882, at St. Johns Lutheran church, Portage, Wisconsin, and later, having been instructed in the truths of the Christian religion, he was confirmed in this same church.

On June 18, 1907, he entered the state of matrimony with Alma Meyer at Portage, Wisconsin. The couple lived at Portage for five years and then, 43 years ago, they moved to Storm Lake.

Mr. Mittelstadt suffered a heart attack on February 21 and was hospitalized. His condition seemed improved, however, and he was looking forward to a return to his home, when he suddenly passed away Saturday morning at 8:30.

One infant son, Walter, preceded him in death.

He leaves to mourn his death, his beloved wife, Alma; six daughters, Irma, Mrs. L.G. Peet of Park Ridge, Illinois, Helen, Mrs James Larsen of Storm Lake, Alice, Mrs Elmer Schuelke, of Storm Lake, Dorothy, Mrs Clarence Langhans, of Seattle, Washington and Doris, Mrs. Tom Hardyman, of Storm Lake; two sons, Franklin of Storm Lake, and Raymond of Fort Dodge; two brothers, Herman Mittelstadt of Storm Lake and Walter Mittelstadt of Slhambra, California; three sisters, Edith Mittelstadt and Ann Mittelstadt, both of Portage, Wisconsin; and Helen, Mrs Frank Cottam of Portage; and 11 grandchildren.
