Storm Lake Buena Vista Vidette - Jan 3, 1913 - Madella Florence Millikan, daughter of David and Sarah Geisinger, was born Oct 23, 1857 in Lee county, IL and departed this life at Grand Junction, CO where she had gone to spend the winter with her sister, Dec 23, 1912, having lived 56 years and 2 months. She was the oldest of 7 children.

On July 12, 1882 she was married to David Millikan at Dixon, IL. Soon after they moved to Nebraska and from there to Storm Lake, Iowa, where she has made her home until the time of her death.

She leaves a husband, two sons, a mother, one sister, and four brothers.

About one hour before she departed she wrote a note to her sister, Mrs Welch, requesting her to write to each of her loved ones, not present at her bedside, telling them that she was happy to go and be with Jesus, and asked them all to meet her in Heaven. She also stated her wish to have the funeral services conducted at Storm Lake, Iowa choosing the minister and hymns for the occasion. It seemed to her loved ones that Christ had given her special strength for this expression of her last request.

The funeral services were held in the 1st M.E. church on Monday afternoon. The following relatives from out of town were present: Mr and Mrs Ed Clapp, Mr and Mrs Frank Bushey, Mr and Mrs Charles Krehl, Mr and Mrs Charles Barrett all from Sioux Rapids, Iowa; and Mrs Moray and Mrs Stokes from Spirit Lake, Iowa.
