Storm Lake Pilot Tribune - Aug 6, 1936 - Sioux Rapids - Word reached Sioux Rapids Saturday afternoon that Mrs Mary Lee had passed away at the University hospital in Iowa City, where she had gone a few days previous for medical aid.

Mrs Lee was born Sept 9, 1863 in Thornville, Perry county, Ohio in a family of 8 children. In 1884 on March 18 she was united in marriage to Joseph Lee, who preceded her in death, he having passed away in 1906.

Six children were born to Mr and Mrs Lee, two daughters and a son having passed away, leaving 3 sons: Henry of Sioux Rapids, John W of North Dakota, and Robert of Lake Lillian, MN. She also leaves to mourn her passing 5 brothers and sisters.

In 1903 the Lee family moved to Buena Vista county and to Sioux Rapids in 1919. Mrs Lee residing here ever since. Mrs Lee was of a quiet disposition and had a dear circle of friends. She was patient in her troubles and bore her pain cheerfully.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon from the home of her son, Mr Henry Lee and interment was made in the Storm Lake cemetery.
