Storm Lake Buena Vista Vidette - Jan 30, 1914 - Eugene Horatio Knappenberger was born in Allentown, PA Dec 6, 1849. When he was five years of age his parents moved to Chicago, IL. living there until he was 14 years old. They then moved to Kendall Co, IL. and a few years later to DeKalb county, where they made their home.

Jan 1, 1880 he was united in marriage to Miss Louisa Rossman of Creston, IL. In 1883 they moved to Iowa where they have since made their home, moving to Storm Lake about 7 years ago. He died here Jan 24, 1914.

Mr Knappenberger was one of a family of 12 children. Three brothers and three sisters with the father and mother have preceded him in death.

He leaves to mourn his going his wife and their three children; one grandchild, two sisters: Mrs Eli Bean of Fort Dodge and Mrs John Southard of Kirkland, IL; and three brothers: Charles, Ben, and Fred respectively of Fort Dodge, IA, Kirkland, IL, and Burns, CO.

His children who remain to comfort the stricken wife are: Mrs Roy Mullins of Storm Lake and Edna and Joe at home.

At the time of his death Mr Knappenberger was 64 years, 1 months and 19 days old. The funeral was held at the Lakeside church Tuesday afternoon.
