Storm Lake Pilot Tribune - January 3, 1929 - Henry Kay Sr, well known pioneer resident, died at this home, 220 Superior street, Thursday morning Dec 27, following an illness of about 2 months.

Mr Kay was born Dec 16, 1841 at Putze Temer Island, Schleswig, Holstein, Germany. In 1865 he came to American and settled in Chicago where he remained until 1883, when he moved to Storm Lake.

He was united in marriage to Miss Sophia Lange, May 18, 1873. To this union were born 11 children: John who died in infancy; Miss Anna Kay of Storm Lake; F.H. Kay of Rembrandt; Fred and Emil Kay of Heron Lake, MN; Mrs Charles Sroka of Delmont, SD; Mrs C.P. Krenzien and Miss Mable Kay of Norfolk, NE; Mrs Wm Harth of Storm Lake; Henry Kay of Lakefield, MN; and Mrs Ora Meyer of Delmont, SD. 16 grandchildren also survive him.

Mrs Kay passed away April 27, 1908. Mr Kay was the last surviving member of the original Kay family

Funeral services were held Saturday at the Lutheran church. Pall bearers were the four sons and two sons-in-law.
