Storm Lake Buena Vista Vidette - July 31, 1908 - C.O. Ihmels died at the home of his wife's parents here Monday, July 27, 1908 at noon. He had inflammatory rheumatism for about 5 weeks and was getting better last week.
On Monday he sat up in a chair for awhile because he felt so well but the exertion was too much for him and his heart failed about 12 o'clock. Most of his family were present when he died and they had just time to take an affectionate leave when he passed away.
He was born in Pekin, IL Sept 26, 1866 and in his early youth his parents moved to Steamboat, Rock Island. Later they went to a small town near Algona, Iowa where he was married Sept 21, 1888 to Miss Cora Hale. He was first engaged in the furniture business in West Bend then in Pocahontas.
A few years ago he began to travel for C.T. Hopper Company and moved to Storm Lake. He was employed by them when he died.
He leaves to mourn his death his wife and two sons: Frank and Albert, aged 18 and 5 respectively.
