Storm Lake Register - October 31, 1919 - Louis Henne, a resident of this city for many years, passed away at his home at 718 Cayuga street on Tuesday evening, Oct 28, after a short illness with acute cystitis.

Mr Henne was one of the prominent citizens of this city, having been in the harness business here for nearly 35 years. He always led a busy, active and useful life and took a great interest in the welfare of the city and community.

For some time his health had been failing, however, he was not confined to his home and was able to be up nearly every day until a short time before his death.

Louis Henne was born in Kirchberg, in the province of Wurtemburg, Germany on July 22, 1833. He came to America when 19 years of age and located in New York. He later moved to Illinois and in the year 1881 he came to Iowa. He bought the harness shop belonging to J.C. Henkel in Storm Lake and continued in the harness business until the year 1915, when he retired from the business. Jess Spangler later opened up a harness shop where Mr Henne was located.

In the year 1894, he was united in marriage to Mrs Jennie Cochran, who with her two daughters, Mrs W.L. Sedgley and Mrs A.E. Webb, survive him.

Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church on Thursday afternoon. Interment was made in the Storm Lake cemetery.
