Storm Lake Register - December 18, 1934 - Mrs Florence L Haughey, former will known Storm Lake resident, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs Christie M McNeil at Ames, Thursday Dec 13, at the age of 74 years. Mrs Haughey had been in failing health for some time but was seriously ill only a short time prior to her death.

Born near Oswego in Kendall county, IL on July 7 1860, Mrs Haughey moved with her parents to a farm near Storm Lake in 1894.

On January 31, 1904 she was united in marriage to Mr James H Haughey. They lived on a farm 7 miles northeast of Storm Lake until 1906 when they moved to a farm 3 miles north of Creston.

In 1909 they moved to Faulkton, SD where they lived for 3 years when they moved back to Storm Lake. Mr Haugheys death occurred here a few years ago.

In 1928 Mrs Haughey went to Ames to make her home with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr and Mrs McNeil, where death occurred.

She leaves to mourn her death her daughter, Mrs Christie M McNeil; a son, John T Haughey of Washington DC; one brother Edmund O Brockway of Indianola and many other relatives.

Funeral services were held from the Hughes Funeral Home Sunday afternoon. Interment was in the family lot in the Storm Lake cemetery.
