Storm Lake Register - November 27, 1951 - Funeral services for George M Gilliland, 92, long time resident of Storm Lake were held Sunday afternoon from Lakeside Presbyterian church. Interment was in the Storm Lake cemetery.

Mr Gilliland who came to Storm Lake in 1880, passed away on Thursday in a local hospital following an operation from which he failed to rally.

He was an early day carpenter who built many present day Storm Lake homes. He had resided in the same home on Lake avenue just north of the Vista theater for over 61 years.

Mrs Gilliland preceded her husband in death 4 years ago.

Survivors include a son, Floyd of Devils Lake, ND and a daughter, Mrs Basil Rice of Storm Lake.
