Storm Lake Buena Vista County Herald And The Linn Grove News - February 13, 1936 - Mrs. Ella Foster, 80, well known Storm Lake woman and resident here since 1900, died at the Swallum hospital about 6:30 p.m. Monday.

Mrs. Foster had been failing for some time and had lived in a room at the hospital since last spring. A few weeks ago she fell and broke a bone in her arm, which accident weakened her, and Sunday she became seriously ill.

Funeral services will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Fiscus Funeral Home, the Rev. Edw. L. Gibson officiating. Music will be furnished by a trio composed of Mrs. Morton Hughes, Mrs. Robert Blakely, and F.E. Tellier. Harry Caldwell, Geo. Fortney, David Hughes, Don White, Glenn R. Appleton, and R.E. Sheffield will act as bearers. An active woman, Mrs. Foster was a member of the Presbyterian church since moving here in 1900, and was a charter member of the Buena Vista county D.A.R.

Her husband, A.M. Foster, and sons Lynn and Harry, owned a store here for several years. When Mr. Foster died before filling his term as postmaster, Mrs. Foster acted in the capacity for a time.

Mrs. Foster, the daughter of Isaac and Sarah Fuller, was born May 10, 1856. In 1883 she was united in marriage to Arthur M. Foster at Lone Rock. To this union two sons, Lynn and Harry, were born, both of whom have died. Lynn in 1930 and Harry in 1925. Mr. Foster died in 1927. After living at Lone Rock until 1894, the Fosters moved to Lacrosse, Wis, until 1900, when they came here.
