Storm Lake Register - July 13, 1943 - Sorrowing relatives and sad friends paid tribute Friday afternoon to Mrs. Margaret (Grandmother) Figi, 70, at funeral services at Lakeside Presbyterian church. Mrs Figi was fatally injured Wednesday when struck by a train at Lakeside after getting her mail.
Dr Edward L Gibson, pastor of Lakeside Presbyterian church, was in charge of the service Miss Elizabeth Coffin sang "Asleep in Jesus" and "The City Foursquare." Miss Elinore Barber presided at the organ. Bearers were John, Charles, Will, Henry, and George Olhausen, brothers of Mrs. Figi, and Charles Aurand, a cousin. Burial was in Lakeview cemetery. Although there were many beautiful floral offerings which reflected the esteem relatives and friends held for Mrs. Figi, a number of others sent money to a children's home at Council Bluffs as memorial gifts. Mrs. Figi was very interested in the home and money, which she found about the grounds at Lakeside after celebrations, was sent to the home.
All of Mrs. Figi's brothers and sisters from Hartley, her son, Elmer Figi, and family of Minneapolis, numerous cousins from Illinois, as well as many friends from Hartley, attended the funeral.

In 1892 she married Jacob Figi and to this union was given five children: John L Figi and Laura (now Mrs. Willard Lawrence), both of Lakeside; Elma S, who died in infancy; Elmer Figi of Minneapolis; and Ruth, now Mrs Clem Ledoux, of Storm Lake.
Beside the children who survive, she leaves two daughters-in-law: Mrs Elmer Figi and Mrs. J.L. Figi, and a son-in-law, Clem Ledoux; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also three sisters: Mrs. E. Waldt Bethke, Mrs. Albert Gross, and Mrs. Elmer Neeble, and five brothers, John, Charles, Henry, Will and George Olhausen, all of Hartley.
Mrs. Figi was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church at Loren, Illinois. Later on, after moving to Iowa, she united with the Trinity Reformed church at Hartley, and was still a member there at the time of her death. She was also a member of the Ladles Aid society of the same church.
Mrs. Figi had lived for a number of years prior to 1926 with her parents. Since then she has lived with her children, who were always happy to have her in their homes. At the time of her sudden death last Wednesday, July 7, at about noon, she was 70 years, 7 months, and 23 days old.
