Storm Lake Register - November 17, 1936 - Charles H Fisk, 88, pioneer Storm Lake resident, died early Sunday morning at his home at 317 West Sixth street.
About 12 years ago, Mr Fisk fell on a slippery sidewalk and received injuries from which he never recovered. For the past year, he had been confined to his home, suffering great pain resulting from the fall. Mr Fisk had been a resident of this city since 1882. Many friends and neighbors mourn the passing of a fine and loyal citizen.
Mr Fisk was born Jan 19, 1848 in Wisconsin. Later with his parents he moved to Minnesota, where he was a woodsman with a lumber company.
He was married in 1870 to Mary Jane Alexander in Sac county and in the year of 1871, they moved to a homestead about 9 miles northeast of Storm Lake in Orient township. Two children were born to this couple: Ernest of Storm Lake and Mrs Jesse Hanley of St Paul, MN.
In 1882 they moved to Storm Lake where Mr Fisk was in the bottling business for a number of years. After selling this business he and his son, Ernest, were in the laundry business for a period of 26 years after which time Mr Fink retired from active business life.
In 1884 Mr Fink joined the local fire department. He has kept his membership in the group during all these years.
He is survived by his wife and the two children.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon. Interment was in the Storm Lake cemetery.
