February 19, 1915 - Storm Lake Pilot Tribune - Charles G. Dushinski died at his home in this city on Tuesday, February 16, 1915, having been an invalid for the past fifteen years. His death was a merciful release from suffering.
The decedent was in his eighty-sixth year, having been born on August 2, 1829 in Zemplebourg, Germany. In 1859 he was married to Miss Rose Zook and to this union were born three children: Mrs. Augusta Biggins of Storm Lake; Mrs. Rosa Woods, Reding, Cal.; and M.W. Dushinski of Cherokee.
He was married for the second time to Miss Augusta Peck in 1866 in Germany. They lived for a time in Bloomington, Illinois, after their marriage and came to Storm Lake in 1876. To them were born nine children, two of whom died in infancy and Emil passed away at the age of twenty-two years.
The surviving children are: two sons, E.W. of Monterey, Minn.; A.G. of Ormsby, Minn.; Mrs. Pauline Christofferson of Dubuque; Mrs. Ida Whitman, Dodge Center, Minn.; Mrs. Bertha Hixon, Storm Lake; Mrs. Minnie Meinhardt, Storm Lake. The decedent also leaves twenty-three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The funeral services were held from the German Lutheran church on Thursday afternoon and laid to rest in the Lutheran Cemetery. The services were conducted by the Rev. E.T. Lochner.
