October 27, 1887 - Storm Lake Pilot - Died in Storm Lake, Monday, October 24, 1887, of consumption, Eva H., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Campbell, aged 24 years, 2 months and 25 days.

Eva was born at Hermitage, Missouri, in 1863. In 1871 she came to Iowa and Buena Vista county, and here she has since made her home. Her quiet, unassuming and loving ways won her multitudes of friends, and especially among the children, who loved her dearly, and during her last hours she took pleasure in naming the loved ones gone before whom she longed to meet in a home devoid of pain.

Eva was always a helper and desired to be useful and independent. From July, 1882 until Feb., 1886, she kept the books of the firm of Brown Bros., giving up on account of ill health. From that time an unseen but relentless foe fought for her young life and won it. But she was resigned and ready for the end, trusting implicitly in her Savior to carry her through any and all danger safely. At home she was the idol of all and it was the first great sorrow to visit them, but her last words of comfort and cheer will always be with and bless them.

The funeral services were held at the Universalist church Wednesday afternoon conducted the by pastor, and many friends followed to the grave to drop a final tear in memory of one so universally beloved.
