July 7, 1936 - Storm Lake Register - Death claimed one of Storm Lakes earliest and best known residents in the passing of T.K. Alexander at Sioux City Thursday evening July 3rd at the age of nearly 80 years.
Mr Alexander had been in ill health for the last 4 years, having suffered a stroke shortly after driving to Sioux City to visit his sister, Mrs M.E. Wilson, on Decoration day in 1932. He has never fully recovered. He had since made his home with his sisters, Mrs Wilson and Mrs F.F. Ranney at Benson, MN. Recently he had been in a Sioux City hospital where death occurred.
Thomas Kerr Alexander, son of John B and Mary Alexander was born at Epworth, Dubuque county, Iowa on Aug 10, 1856. In 1872 he moved with is parents to Buena Vista county, locating on a farm near Storm Lake. He had since lived here with the exception of the last 4 years and was prominently identified with the life of the community.
Mr Alexander was in the real estate business for a number of years. He also served as city assessor for many years. He was a stock holder and vice president of the Security Trust & Savings bank and was an active worker in Lakeside Presbyterian church.
Surviving him are two sisters: Mrs M.E. Wilson of Sioux City and Mrs F.F. Ranney of Benson, MN and one brother, C.R. Alexander of Delmont, S.D. and by other relatives and hosts of friends.
Mr Alexander was laid to rest in the Alexander family lot in the Storm Lake cemetery Monday morning. Those from out of town in attendance at the funeral were, Mr and Mrs Wilson and Mr and Mrs Mark Wilson of Sioux City and Mr and Mrs Ranney of Benson, MN.
