Lois Lorraine Holmberg
October 15, 1932 - February 11, 2016Lois L. Holmberg, age 83, of Storm Lake, Iowa, and formerly of Laurens, Iowa, died on Thursday, February 11, 2016, at the North Lake Manor in Storm Lake.
Lois Lorraine Gregory, a daughter of Luke and Madeline (DeBrackeleleire) Gregory, was born on October 15, 1932, on the family farm in Texas County, Missouri. During her childhood, she enjoyed learning about her mother’s Belgium heritage.
On October 8, 1953, Lois married Richard C. “Dusty” Holmberg at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Subsequently, they were blessed with four children: James, Jerry, Joda, and Jackie.
In 1970, Lois was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Lois enjoyed raising chickens and hogs and spending time in her garden.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: James (Shannon) Holmberg, of Storm Lake, Iowa, Jerry (Ellen) Holmberg, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Joda (Mike) Doll, of Milford, Iowa, Jackie (Joe) Wede, of Storm Lake, Iowa, and Carl and Greg Clark, both of Illinois; many grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and great grandchildren; and her sister, Joan (Ron) Trenary, of Rolfe, Iowa; as well as extended family members and friends.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her sisters: Connie (Dennis) Ahlers, Laura (Bill) Madsen, and Betty (Art) Campbell.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 20, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Storm Lake. A reception will follow at the Kings Pointe Resort Ballroom. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
