November 3, 1930 - October 16, 2015Myrna Feldman, age 84, of Albert City, Iowa, died on Friday, October 16, 2015, at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.
Myrna Joy Nelson, a daughter of David and Stella (Anderson) Nelson was born in Storm Lake, Iowa, on November 3, 1930. She lived her youth on a farm near Albert City. Having attended school in Albert City, she graduated from Albert City High School in 1948. She, then, continued her education at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in home economics in 1952.
On June 28, 1952, Myrna married Marlowe Feldman in Albert City, Iowa. Subsequently, they welcomed two children, Kirk and Jayne, into their home. Myrna taught high school home economics for six years in Alta, Sioux Rapids, and Marathon. Otherwise, she and Marlowe spent their married life farming in the Albert City vicinity. Indeed, a devoted farm wife, mother, and homemaker, Myrna worked alongside Marlowe on the farm. In 1998, they retired from farming, and in 2004, they moved into Albert City where they had made their home since.
An active member of the Albert City Evangelical Free Church, the Woman’s Study Club, the Friends of the Albert City Library, the Buena Vista County Hospital Auxiliary, the Young at Heart, and the FCWM Church Auxiliary, Myrna will be remembered as an avid reader who enjoyed gardening and traveling with Marlowe and making a lifetime of memories during their trips within the United States and abroad.
Myrna’s life will always be loved and cherished by her family which includes her husband of sixty-three years, Marlowe, of Albert City, Iowa; her children: Kirk and Corey Feldman, of Carbondale, Colorado, and Jayne Paulsen, of Ida Grove, Iowa; her grandchildren: Harlee Paulsen, of Ida Grove, Iowa, Kelsie Feldman, of Williston, North Dakota, and Buckshot Barry, of Carbondale, Colorado; and her brother-in-law, David Fredrickson, of Mesa, Arizona; as well as by her nieces, nephews, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son-in-law, Paul Paulsen; and her sister, Charlotte Fredrickson.
Memorial services will be held Monday, October 19, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at the Albert City Evangelical Free Church. Burial will follow in the Fairfield Township Cemetery in Albert City. Visitation will take place on Sunday, October 18, 2015, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Albert City Evangelical Free Church. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City is in charge of the arrangements.
