August 5, 1915 - June 4, 2015

Louise (Hartsock) Riead, age 99, of Storm Lake, Iowa, and formerly of Clinton, Missouri, died on June 4, 2015, at the Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake.

Louise Hartsock, a daughter of Virgil and Emily Jane (Montgomery) Hartsock, was born on August 5, 1915, on the Hartsock farm near Deepwater, Missouri.
After graduating from Deepwater High School, she went on to Central Business College in Sedalia, Missouri. Following World War II, Louise met Chester J. Riead and on September 24, 1952, they married. They, subsequently, made their home in Clinton, Missouri, until Chester’s death in 1966.

Louise was a member of Deepwater Presbyterian Church before she and Chester transferred to the First Presbyterian in Clinton. There, she served as an Elder and a Deacon.

In 1984, Louise retired from Charter Bank Clinton, formerly known as Farmer’s Bank of Clinton, as Vice President and Trust Officer. In 1988, she moved to Storm Lake, Iowa, where she made her home near her niece, Dorcas Hartje, and her family. At that time, she transferred her membership to Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Storm Lake where she remained active. In addition to church activities, she enjoyed her membership in the Keystone Reading Club, the Buena Vista Hospital Auxiliary, and the Storm Lake Porcelain Artists. She enjoyed China painting for family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory include her nephew, David Ricklefs, of Sioux Rapids, Iowa, as well as several great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and many friends including the Reverend Don Freeman family.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her niece, Dorcas Hartje, on July 20, 2009; three sisters, Ruth Hartsock, Grace Ricklefs, and Maude Cook; her brother, Glenn Hartsock; and a sister-in-law, Nellie Riead.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Storm Lake. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Memorial services will, also, be held on Thursday, June 11, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Clinton. Burial will follow in the Englewood Cemetery in Clinton. The Consalus Funeral Home in Clinton is handling the arrangements.
