Dean Stuhr Anderson, a son of Kenneth Lloyd and Althea Stuhr Anderson, was born on December 1, 1954, in Waukegan, Illinois. When he was 9 years old, his family moved to Spencer, Iowa. Subsequently, he graduated from Spencer High School and then continued his education at Buena Vista College where he graduated with degrees in Psychology and Communications. While a student at Buena Vista College, he, also, served as Assistant Dean of students.

On April 4, 1980, Dean married Barbara Drury at the Buena Vista College Chapel in Storm Lake, Iowa. Following their wedding, they lived in Storm Lake, Iowa, and Pensacola, Florida, before moving to Houston, Texas, where he served as Vice President of CORT Business Services for twenty-five years. He, also, served as Board Chair for the Furniture Bank in Houston, a non-profit group providing home furnishings to the underprivileged. Dean enjoyed helping people through his volunteer work.

Dean passed away at his home in Spencer, Iowa, on March 15, 2015, at the age of 60. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Dean is survived by his three sons, Samuel Anderson, and his wife, Gina, of Dallas, Texas, Jay Anderson, of Houston, Texas, and Andrew Anderson, also of Houston, Texas; his sister, Gayle Bailey, and her husband, Bryan, of Everly, Iowa; his niece, Bridget Bailey, and her husband, Andrew Dietz, and their son, Nash, of Spencer, Iowa; as well as other relatives and friends.

SERVICES: Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., on Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at the Warner Chapel in Spencer, Rev. Wendy Van Tassell officiating.

CASKET BEARERS: Bryan Bailey, Nick Sabula, Quinton Harmon, Andy Dietz, Craig Zahrt, John Thomas

VISITATION: Will be held one hour prior to the service at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.

MUSIC: Solo “The Lord's Prayer” by Wendy Van Tassell

CD Music: “Wind Beneath My Wings”

Organist: Elina Ozolins

INTERMENT: Lone Tree Cemetery, Everly, Iowa
