Shane A. Swanson was born on May 21, 1975, to Steven and Colleen (Meighan) Swanson in Ames, Iowa. After graduating from Alta High School in 1993, he went to Air Force Basic Training in San Antonio, graduating in 1996. Until 2007, he was stationed at Ellsworth AFB in the 37th Bomb Squadron. In 2008, he transferred to Whiteman AFB in Knob Noster, Missouri, in the 509th Aircraft Maintenance.
Shane’s son, Cameron was born on February 29, 2000.
Shane was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Albert Swanson and Walter Meighan; and a great-uncle, Harry Swanson.
He is survived by his son, Cameron James Swanson, of Taylorsville, Kentucky; his parents, Steven and Colleen Swanson, of Rembrandt, Iowa; his sisters, Kelli Pedersen, and her husband, Ron, of Alta, Iowa, and Keisha Trimble, and her husband, Bryon, of Storm Lake, Iowa; and his nieces and nephews, Kodey, Kash, and Kerrigan Pedersen and Kiera Aberson; as well as by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Graveside: Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Tuesday, September 9th, 2014, at 4:30pm.
