August 7, 1954 - August 17, 2014Richard K. Stone, age 60, of Early, Iowa, died on Sunday, August 17, 2014, at the Loring Hospital in Sac City, Iowa.
Richard “Rocky” Keith Stone, a son of Keith and Jean (Carpenter) Stone, was born in Storm Lake, Iowa, on August 7, 1954. He lived his youth in Storm Lake and attended Storm Lake High School.
Following his education, Rocky moved to California where he worked as a foreman for a construction crew. He, then, enjoyed traveling and working throughout the United States. He, especially, liked the mountains of Colorado. In 1989, he returned to this area where he met his special friend, Trish Snyder. They have made their home together and shared their lives for the past 12 years. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed boating, camping, hunting, and his special passion, fishing.
Rocky is lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him including his significant other, Patricia “Trish” Snyder, of Early, Iowa; and his sisters, Darlene Lara, of Storm Lake, Iowa, Lori Siefkin, of Cherokee, Iowa, Brenda Funck, of Webb, Iowa, Deb Lanus, of Peterson, Iowa, and Patricia Stone, of Early, Iowa; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ronald and Dennis; his nephew, Jeffrey; and his great-niece, Ariel.
A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2014, from 1:30 to 3:30 PM at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake. The Sliefert Funeral Home of Storm Lake is in charge of arrangements.
