Merideth P. Gaudian
October 28, 1923 - March 25, 2013Merideth P. Gaudian, age 89, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died at his home on March 20, 2013.
Merideth Paul Gaudian, the son of Oscar H. and Julia (Beech) Gaudian, was born on a farm near Paullina, Iowa, on October 28, 1923. He lived his youth in the Paullina and Calumet vicinity. After graduating from Calumet High School in 1941, he moved with his family to Storm Lake.
During World War II, Merideth faithfully served his country in the Army Air Force. Upon completion of his military commitment, he returned to Storm Lake and served in the Storm Lake Police Department. He, later, became an Iowa Highway Patrolman based out of the Storm Lake office. In 1988, he retired from law enforcement.
Merideth enjoyed listening to music. His family, however, will remember him as a gifted mechanic who loved cars.
Merideth is survived by his two sisters: Romana Friedrichsen, of Paullina, Iowa, and Virginia Walrath, of Battleground, Washington, along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Delphine Whalen and Kathlyn Jackson.
Memorial services for Merideth will be held on Monday, March 25, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
