October 23, 1967 - September 21, 2012Robert "Rob" Ellis Redding, Jr., age 44, of LeSueur, Minnesota, died Friday, September 21, 2012, at his home.
Rob was born on October 23, 1967, to Robert and Dorothy (Gosen) Redding in Mankato, Minnesota. He graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1985 and then from the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls.
Employed as an anchor and reporter for KEYC Television in North Mankato for five years, Rob, then, went to work at the Nicollet County Court House in environmental services. Rob was a member of MENSA.
Rob enjoyed writing, listening to music, and playing the piano and guitar. He loved spending time on his farm and especially raising his donkeys.
Rob is survived by his wife, Laura, of rural LeSueur; his mother, Dorothy Redding, of Mankato; his sister, Sandra Redding, of Warwick, Rhode Island; and two nieces, Lauren (Joe) Dipilato, of Hudson, New Hampshire, and Maret Paetznick, of Providence, Rhode Island; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Ellis Redding, Sr.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Mankato with Pastor John Petersen officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Big Brother and Big Sister program.
