Perry R. Stout, age 63, of Alta, Iowa, died Monday, September 3, 2012, at his rural Alta home.

Perry R. Stout, the son of Glen and Lola Stanzel Stout, was born in Sac City, Iowa, on February 13, 1949. Baptized and confirmed into the Catholic faith at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sac City in 1970, he received his education at Crestland Community School, graduating with the Class of 1967. He, then, continued his education at Western Iowa Tech in Sioux City where he graduated with a degree in auto mechanics in 1969.

On June 5, 1971, Perry married Mary Kelly at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wall Lake. Their union was blessed with four children: Heather, Jared, Bethany, and Vaughn.

Following their marriage, Perry and Mary resided in Sac City where Perry was employed at the Ford dealership. After the family moved to Duncombe, Iowa, he worked for the Ford dealership in Webster City. Leter they returned to make their home in Sac City once again, and Perry worked at Rasmussen Ford in Storm Lake for twenty-one years. He worked for his last employer, Bel-Mar (Sara Lee) Foods in Storm Lake, for seventeen years. They moved to their present home south of Alta in 1980.

Very talented musically, Perry played several instruments including the violin, accordion, banjo, and guitar. Fascinated with aviation, he earned a private pilot’s license. He also liked spending time gardening and tending to his flowers. In addition, everyone who knew Perry will remember how he loved to tell “big stories”.

Because Perry valued his family greatly, he and Mary always looked forward to visiting family and friends. They enjoyed traveling to see their children while at the same time spoiling their grandchildren. In addition, he always enjoyed helping his children with their automotive projects.
