Ruth Eileen Biggins Geisinger, age 101, of Storm Lake, died August 20, 2012, at North Lake Manor in Storm Lake.
Ruth Eileen Biggins was born September 12, 1910, on the family farm south of Storm Lake to August William and Martha Pech Biggins.
Growing up, she graduated first from Hayes High School and then from Buena Vista College in Storm Lake with a B.A. Degree in 1933. During the 1933 -- 1934 school year, she taught high school English and Speech at Palmer High School in Palmer.
A long time member of Lakeside Presbyterian Church, Mrs. Geisinger actively participated in the church circle, the United Presbyterian Women, as her health permitted. She served two terms of three years each on the board of Deacons, once in the 1960s and again in the 1980s. She also enjoyed her membership in the American Association of University Women.
Mrs. Geisinger is survived by two sons, David W. Geisinger (Sandra), of Schenectady, New York, and Richard J. Geisinger (Barbara), of Cherokee; five grandchildren: Rick Geisinger, Rodney Geisinger, Darby Geisinger, Jill Gobel, and Jody Havens; and ten great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
