Robert H. Haines
December 28, 1946 - July 15, 2012Robert H. Haines, age 65, died July 15, 2012, at his home in Avondale, Arizona, after a fifteen month long battle with cancer.
The oldest of four children, Robert was born on December 28, 1946, in Rochester, Minnesota, to Lyle "Doc" and Rena Haines. He spent his childhood in Jackson, graduating from Jackson High School 1965. He, then, went on to serve in the U.S. Army in Korea. On active duty from 1966 to 1969, he remained in the reserves until 1972.
He married Joyce Barker on October 5, 1974, in Jackson, Minnesota. For a time, the family lived in Storm Lake before moving to Arizona in 1986 where Bob had a successful Appliance Repair business for the last twenty-six years. He enjoyed golfing, eating out, and spending time with his family.
Bob is survived by his wife, Joyce; his daughters, Lori Francis and Kelli Haines, and his son, Michael (Patricia) Haines; four grandchildren, Jessica Francis, Jon Francis, Mickenzie Haines, and Ian Haines; and a great granddaughter Kylee Wilson, all living in the Phoenix area, as well as three sisters, Cheryl Salmonson, of Phoenix, Arizona, Patricia (Robert) Renken, of Fontana, California, and Vicki (Richard) Beeler, of Alcester, South Dakota. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held at the national memorial Cemetery in Phoenix, Arizona, on Friday, July 27, 2012, at 10:00 am.
