Timothy K. Bruns, age 64, of Albert City, Iowa, died Sunday, May 20, 2012, at his home in rural Albert City.

Timothy Keith Bruns was born January 26, 1948, in Garden City, Kansas, the son of Roland and Anna (Staab) Bruns.

During his youth, Tim lived with his family in Dighton, Kansas, where he received his education, graduating from Dighton High School in 1966. He attended Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas, earning a Master of Science degree in Speech/Language Pathology in 1976.

Tim joined the United States Air Force in September 1967, serving during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharge in September 1971. On July 20, 1994, Tim married Annette (Bollard) Garriott in Las Vegas, Nevada.

As a child, Tim was baptized and confirmed at the Lutheran Church in Dighton, Kansas. He currently was a member of the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake.

Tim dedicated his life to the children he served. Admirably, he worked as a Speech Language Pathologist with the AEA for thirty-one years, retiring in May of 2007. When not working, he enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish Tim’s memory are his wife, Annette Bruns, of Albert City; his children: Nichole (Ed) Pellowski, of Indianapolis, Indiana, Bill (Janelle) Garriott, of Chandler, Arizona, Melissa (Jared) Kearney, of Forest City, Iowa, and Sarah (Mark) Jacobson, of Chandler, Arizona; seven grandchildren: Maddie Pellowski; Abby, Nick, Jack, and Emma Garriott; and Luke and Max Kearney; and two brothers: Brad (Cindy) Bruns, of Maize, Kansas, and Roger (Charyne) Bruns, of Kansas City, Missouri; as well as extended family and friends.

Preceding Tim in death are his parents; a brother, Stanley Bruns, of Akron, Ohio; and one grandson, Evan Pellowski.

Visitation: 4:00-7:00 p.m., May 24, 2012, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., May 25, 2012 at the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake, Iowa.
