Darrell John Alderton
October 14, 1963 - March 25, 2012

Darrell John Alderton was born on October 14, 1963, in Los Angeles, California. At age four, he was adopted by Jan and the late Roderick Alderton. He moved to Storm Lake along with his family in August, 1968. He graduated from SLHS where he was active in choir, band, orchestra and drama. He attended Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville and completed Cosmetology School in Denver, Colorado. He also lived in Los Angeles, Austin, Texas, Storm Lake, Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, and Anamosa. He was briefly married to his friend Roberta.

Darrell John died March 25, 2012, at University Hospitals in Iowa City from heart failure. He is survived by his mother, Jan Alderton; his grandmother, Ann Peterson Pyle; his siblings, Anne Radke, of Onawa, Frank Alderton, of Storm Lake, Nancy Wilson, of Storm Lake, Mark Alderton, of Mesa, Arizona, Lynn Cuvelier, of Cedar Falls, Daniel Alderton, of Altadena, California, and Benjamin Alderton, of Denver, Colorado; his uncles, Lee Peterson, of Yakima, Washington, Bill Peterson, of Iowa City, Carl James Peterson, of New Zealand, and Rick and Paul Peterson, of Storm Lake as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Darrell John was cremated. The family will have a memorial service at a later date. Any memorials should be directed to support the music ministry at Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Storm Lake.
