October 25, 1948 - March 21, 2012Robert N. White, age 63, of Sioux Rapids, Iowa, died on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at his home in Sioux Rapids.
Robert Norville White, the son of Elwin and Margie (Duval) White, was born in Cherokee, Iowa, on October 25, 1948. He lived his youth in Cherokee until he was 14 years old. At that time, he moved with his family to Sioux Rapids where he lived the rest of his life.
On August 11, 1967, Rob married Connie Eaton in Storm Lake, Iowa. This union was blessed with four children: Billy, Bobby, Penny, and Bradley. During his lifetime, Rob worked for Cliff Lee at Standard Oil and also for Ron Mattice at his shop. He was later employed at Ranco Fertiservice, Simonsen Iron Works, and Nelson Products.
An ace auto body man who loved building hot rods, Rob always had a love for cars. He and his boys all have RC cars that they played with and raced. Rob also collected die cast cars and hot wheels.
Robert was a very talented man and dearly loved all his family and friends. He loved spending time with them and participating in activities together. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Rob’s life will always be cherished and celebrated by his family which includes: his wife, Connie, of Sioux Rapids; his children: Billy (Jana) White, of Sioux Rapids, Iowa, Bobby White, of Sutherland, Iowa, Penny White (Scot), of Hartley, Iowa, and Bradley (Jessie) White, of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; three brothers: Elwin (Charlotte) White and Richard White, of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; and Kim White, of Scottsdale, Arizona; two sisters: Lorraine Crapser, of Eagle Grove, Iowa, and Jolene Phelps, of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; his father-in-law and mother-in-law; and two brothers-in-law.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 26, 2012, at the First United Church of Sioux Rapids. Burial will follow in the Lone Tree Cemetery in Sioux Rapids. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday, March 25, 2012, at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids with the family present to greet friends. The Sliefert Funeral Home of Sioux Rapids is in charge of the arrangements.
