Marlene Eddie, age 75, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died February 9, 2012, at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.

Melva Marlene Foval was born in Storm Lake, Iowa, on September 20, 1936, to Ervin Roy and Melva Louise Lorence Foval. She was baptized in Marathon at the home of her grandparents on November 18, 1936. She was confirmed at the Little Sioux Valley Lutheran Church in May 1951.

Marlene lived in Rembrandt and attended Rembrandt Consolidated School, graduating in 1954. On February 20, 1955, she married Roger Dale Eddie, and three sons were born to this union. She worked in three banks until her children were born, and then became a stay at home mom for many years. From 1985 to 2004, she worked at Citizens First National Bank in Storm Lake, and she then accepted a part time position at First Federal Plaza until illness forced her retirement.

Her hobbies included homemaking, taking care of her three sons, bowling, creating beautiful art with counted cross stitch, and playing the piano. Very involved in her church in Rembrandt, she served as church organist, president of the Ladies Aid Society, and church secretary. She enjoyed a life-long membership in the Merry Matrons Club as well.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of fifty-seven years, Roger Eddie; her children: Kevin (Teri) Eddie, of Storm Lake, Iowa, Kyle (Lesa) Eddie, also of Storm Lake, Iowa, and Kirby (Karna) Eddie, of Adel, Iowa; her grandchildren: Geoff Eddie, Lance (Christine) Eddie, Dallas Eddie, Trae Eddie, and Chase Eddie; her step-grandchildren: Katie (Cullen) Vredenburg, Brett Townsend, A .J. Smith, Jenna (fiancé, Jordan Hinkeldey) Smith, and MacKenzie Smith; her step-great grandchild, Brayden; her sister, Betty Foval (Robert) Hoskins, of Virginia; her niece, Shari Ervine Linn; her nephews, Lane (Dorothy) Hoskins and David Hoskins; as well as other nieces and nephews; extended family and many friends.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Ervin and Melva Foval; and two half-sisters, Ervine Kirsch and Isabelle Robinson.

Visitation: 5:00-7:00 p.m., February 12, 2012, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., February 13, 2012, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Rembrandt, Iowa.
Interment: February 13, 2012, at Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake, Iowa.
