Marcella K. Dick, age 86, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died January 28, 2012, at North Lake Manor in Storm Lake.

Marcella Kathryn Koenck was born March 7, 1925, in Vail, Iowa, the daughter of John and Irene (Dozark) Koenck. Currently a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Storm Lake, she was baptized and confirmed there as well.

She attended school in Early, graduating from Early High School in 1943.

On September 30, 1944, Marcella married Bernard Vincent Dick at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Early.

Together, Marcella and Bernard farmed for several years in both Sac and Buena Vista Counties. She also worked as a waitress and as a seamstress for Orchid Cleaners for twenty-five years.

Marcella enjoyed gardening, quilting, and crocheting. She collected milk glass spoons, matchbook covers, and pens and kept articles from the newspapers on births, deaths, and weddings. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling with family and friends. Although she had no children, she treasured family gatherings with all of her nieces and nephews. Marcella will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her brothers: John (Nina) Koenck, Jr., of Toms River, New Jersey, Merle L. (Helen) Bunting, of Marion, Iowa, Dwight A. (Rosella) Bunting, of Wilton, Iowa, Keith E. (Jean) Bunting, of Holiday Island, Arkansas, Dale C. (Lois) Bunting, of Bentonville, Arkansas, and Gary L. (Teresa) Bunting, of Havelock, Iowa; as well as many nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.

Marcella was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Dick; her father, John Koenck; her mother, Irene Bunting; and her stepfather, Clyde Bunting.

Visitation: 5:00-7:00 p.m., January 30, 2012, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Mass of Christian Burial: 2:00 p.m., January 31, 2012, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Vigil Service: 7:00 p.m., January 30, 2012, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Interment: January 31, 2012, at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Storm Lake, Iowa.
