Kermit R. Iversen
March 23, 1920 - January 23, 2005

Kermit R. Iversen passed away on January 23, 2005, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center in Waterloo of natural causes.

Kermit was born March 23, 1920, in Alta to Carl and Esther (Bloom) Iversen. He graduated from Alta High School in 1938 and attended Buena Vista College. On September 1, 1946, he married Dortha Cunningham in Waterloo.

Kermit was employed with Matt Parrott & Sons in Waterloo for thirty-seven years, retiring in 1986. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp in the European Theater during WW II.

Kermit is survived by his wife: Dortha Iversen, Waterloo; his sons, Dennis (Lois) Iversen, Macomb, Illinois, Gary Iversen, Waterloo, and Bruce (Ofelia) Iversen, Cedar Falls; his daughter, Carol (Courtney) Messingham, Oelwein; eleven grandchildren; one great granddaughter; a twin sister: Leora Klayder, Denver, Colorado; and a sister-in-law: Elsa Cunningham, Algona.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services for Kermit R. Iversen, 84, will be held Thursday, January 27, 2005, at the South Waterloo Church of the Brethren. Burial will be in the Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery.
