Born in Sweden in 1861, Burial in Scandinavian Cemetary

Mrs. Hannah Bengston-Kline, well known Alta citizen passed away at her home in Alta on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 29, [1934], following an extended illness. Everything that loving hands could do to relieve her were without result and she passed away.

Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon of this week from the home and the Presbyterian church. Rev. John Bloomquist, pastor of the church, assisted by Rev. Olson of Storm Lake were in charge of the services. Burial was made in the family lot in the Scandinavian cemetary.

Mrs. Hannah Bengston-Kline was born in Bjekine, Sweden, Jan. 16, 1861, and passed away at her home in Alta on November 29, [1934], at the age of 73 years, 10 months and 13 days.

Mrs. Kline spent her girlhood days in Sweden, coming to America in 1885, locating in Chicago. A year later she came to Alta. On June 22, 1887 she was united in marriage to Axel M. Kline. Following their marriage they moved to a farm northwest of Alta, where they lived for 28 years. In 1915 they moved to Alta. Four years later Mr. Kline passed away. Ten children were born to this union, two of whom Clarence and William preceded them in death. There are four sons and four daughters surviving, namely Arthur, Alice, Oscar, Ida, Berger, Anna, Ernest and Esther. Two brothers, one living in Sweden and the other in Germany also survive. There are thirteen grandchildren.

Mrs. Kline was a loving mother and neighbor, and held in high regard by all who knew her. She united with the Swedish Mission church when a young woman.
