September 20, 1934 - November 8, 2004Colleen Geisinger, age 70, of Linn Grove, died at her home on Monday, November 8, 2004.
Colleen Frances Quigley was born September 20, 1934, to Frank and Oma (Jeppson) Quigley in Sioux Rapids. Baptized and confirmed in the Congregational Church in Sioux Rapids, she also attended both elementary and high school in that community.
On February 7, 1953, Colleen married Bruce Geisinger at the First Lutheran Church in Jackson, Minnesota. Their union was blessed with five children: Ron, Kurt, Eric, Marcia, and Beed. Colleen was a loving wife and devoted mother who treasured her family and enjoyed all of their activities. She derived great pleasure from the many hours she spent playing games at the kitchen table with her children and grandchildren.
Colleen liked to garden and enjoyed drawing, reading, doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles, cross stitching and playing cards. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling and basketball. She had many hobbies.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Bruce, of Linn Grove; her mother, Oma Quigley, at the Pleasant View Home in Albert City; her children: Ron, and his wife, Sonya Geisinger, and Kurt, and his wife, Debra Geisinger, all of Linn Grove, Eric, and his wife, Ann Geisinger, of Peterson, Marcia Smithey, of Dimock, South Dakota, and Beed and his wife, Heather Geisinger, of Sioux Rapids; her grandchildren: Brandy and Todd Dirksen, of McChord AFB, Washington, Rhiannon and Matt Chizek, of West Des Moines, Lee Geisinger, of Cedar Rapids, Sammy Farrenkopf and Zamara Geisinger, of Linn Grove, Elijah, Todd, and Jonathon Geisinger, of Linn Grove, Jason and Shena Geisinger, of Peterson, Jake and Jeff Smithey, of Dimock, South Dakota, Taylor Geisinger, of Spencer, Austin Brown, of Sioux Rapids, and Clayton Geisinger of Sioux Rapids; and her great-grandchildren: Nathan, Tyler, and Lauren Dirksen of McChord AFB, Washington; as well as other extended family members and friends.
Colleen was preceded in death by her father, Frank Quigley; her son-in-law, Eddie Smithey; her grandchildren, Emily, Andrew, and Nickolas Geisinger; and a great-grandchild, Bailey Geisinger.
Funeral Services were held on Friday, November 12, 2004, at 1:30 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Sioux Rapids with Pastor Tonna Parsons officiating. Burial was in Lone Tree Cemetery at Sioux Rapids under the direction of the Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids.
