Wilma Bell Dingman
October 24, 1910 - November 5, 2004Wilma Dingman, age 94, of Marathon, died Friday, November 5, 2004, at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge.
Wilma was born on October 24, 1910, at Marathon to James William and Lucretia May (Hayes) Watts. She lived with her parents at their rural Marathon home as a child and attended the Pickeral Lake Country School.
On March 5, 1930, Wilma married Roy Lemont Dingman in Marathon. Their marriage was blessed with one son, Donald.
Wilma spent her life making a warm and comfortable home for her family members, whom she cherished. A member of the Marathon United Methodist Church, she enjoyed crocheting afghans in her spare time.
Survivors include her son, Donald Dingman, of Vancouver, Washington; three grandchildren: David Dingman and Donna Jo Dingman, both of Vancouver, Washington, and Dee Ann Jacklin, of Bristol, Rhode Island; five great-grandchildren: Josh and Joy Dingman, Danielle Nickel, Deedra Troup, and Deonna Wilson; and six great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Jeanette Decker, of Laurens; and other extended family and friends.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brothers, William Glen Watts and Kenneth Watts.
Memorial Services were held on Thursday, November 11, 2004, at the United Methodist Church in Marathon immediately following her 2:00 p.m. interment in the Poland Township Cemetery at Marathon. Services were under the direction of the Sliefert Funeral Home in Marathon. Pastor David Schumann officiated.
