Oscar Emanuel Peterson passed away on November 13, 2004, in Storm Lake at the age of ninty-eight years and eight days.

Oscar was born on a farm north of the Center Grove Church on November 5, 1906, to Gustaf and Anna (Gustfason) Peterson. He received his education at the Scott Center School.

Okie farmed at home and did corn shelling with his brother, Elmer.

On March 11, 1937, he married Linnea Larson at her parents home in Salem, South Dakota. They purchased a farm where they raised crops and livestock. Oscar also farmed with his brother, Delbert, for many years.

Oscar attended Center Grove Free Church where he held many positions. After the Center Grove Church closed, Oscar and Linnea attended Hope Evangelical Free Church in Storm Lake.

Although Oscar and Linnea never had children, they were beloved by the young and old alike. Linnea passed away on October 15, 1996. The following year, Oscar moved into the Methodist Manor. He set a wonderful example for the following generations to follow.

Religious services for Oscar Emanuel Peterson were held Tuesday, November 16, 2004, at Hope Evangelical Free Church, Storm Lake, with Rev. Jim Hofman officiating. Interment followed at the Storm Lake Cemetery.
