Teresa M. Mason, age 48, of Marathon, died Wednesday, November 10, 2004, at the University Hospitals in Iowa City.

Teresa Mae Wipperling was born on December 14, 1955, to Marvin August and Caroline Lou (Sothan) Wipperling at Norfolk, Nebraska. Baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Storm Lake, she spent her childhood in her parents' homes in Rembrandt, Albert City, and Marathon. Teresa attended elementary school at Marathon and high school in Storm Lake.

On December 27, 1975, Teresa married Charles Herbert Mason at Zion Lutheran Church near Storm Lake. Their union was blessed with two children: a son, Gabrial Charles Mason, and a daughter, Nicole Hope Mason.

Teresa was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Marathon. She worked at the Corney Corner, the Newell Good Samaritan Center, and the Methodist Hospital at various times. She enjoyed baking for her family and doing crafts and crocheting in her spare moments. Teresa was a devoted mother who treasured her family members and the time she spent with them.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Nicole, of Cedar Rapids; her significant other, Arnold Grow, of Marathon; her sisters: Cindy Morse and Kathy Wipperling, both of Storm Lake; her brothers: Marvin, Glenn, and Ronald Wipperling, of Laurens, and Leon Wipperling, of Alta; her granddaughter, Tabytha Mae Lou Buettner, of Cedar Rapids; as well as other extended family members and a host of friends.

Teresa was preceded in death by her parents; her son; and her grandparents.

Funeral Services for Teresa Mason were held on Monday, November 15, 2004, at 1:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Marathon with Pastor David Schumann officiating. Burial was in the Poland Township Cemetery at Marathon under the direction of the Sliefert Funeral Home in Marathon.
