Robert Prunty, Jr.
February 2, 1924 - November 10, 2004

Robert C. Prunty, Jr., age 80, of Rochelle, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2004, at the Franklin Grove Health Center.

Robert was born on February 2, 1924, in Mapleton, the son of Robert Charles and Elizabeth (Pendergraft) Prunty. He married LaVera Ruhs on September 1, 1946, in Schaller. He had previously owned and operated Courtesy Motors in Spirit Lake. Bob was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Rochelle and was a WWII Veteran serving in the Army Air Corps.

Survivors include his wife: LaVera, of Rochelle, Illinois; two sons: Lee (Jane) Prunty, of Rochelle, Illinois, and Lynn (Deb Patten) Prunty, of Sioux Rapids; two daughters: Randi (John) Vilks, of Omaha, Nebraska, and Lori (Richard) Patterson, of Rochelle, Illinois; his grandchildren: Paul (Nancy Myers) Prunty, of Cypress, California, Dejaka, Linley and Mariah Davidson, of Rochelle, Illinois, Daniel, Casey, John (Kelly) Patterson, Chad (Shandra), Sherri and Donny; and his great grandchildren: Gabriel and Shane Prunty, of Cypress, California, Alexander and Xavier Wade, and Katie Patterson of Ashton, Illinois.

One of nine children, Bob is survived by seven of his siblings: Loise Addison, of Fresno, California, Betty Koepenick, of Folsom, California, Mary Beth (Les) Marousek, of Atlantic, Shirley (John) Stell, of Berthoud, Colorado, Ruth (Frank) Rausch, of Folsom, California, Jack (Judy) Prunty, of Lorimor, Kay (Don) Mayes, of Pueblo, California, and Rex (Linda) Prunty, of Swisher; and his brother-in-law, John Fiebig, of Tracy, California.

Bob was preceded by his parents and a sister, Virginia Fiebig.

Funeral Services for Robert Prunty, Jr., will be held on Friday, November 19, 2004, at 11:00 AM at the Sliefert Funeral Home, 403 4th St., Sioux Rapids, with a visitation from 9:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will be at the Lone Tree Cemetery in Sioux Rapids.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Rochelle, Illinois, or Faith Lutheran Church in Sioux Rapids, Iowa.

Funeral services were held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Rochelle, Illinois, on Monday, November 15, 2004, at 11:00 AM with Rev. Mark Nordman officiating.
